Carrier-Style (Bomb-Bay) Sortation Systems • GBI'S SORTER-LITE

GBI's new compact addition to our line of Carrier-Style / Bomb-Bay Sorter, Simple Solution Sorters, is the economical Sorter-Lite, combining the best features of our full sized sorters. The Sorter-Lite was specifically designed for the smaller warehouse and photofinishing labs that could benefit from this technology, but either didn't have the space for a sorter or the volume to justify the return on investment.

• The Sorter-Lite Sorter utilizes the same proven technology, ruggedness, and software as GBI's full size sorters.
• Automatic Induction is standard using our proven Synchro-Loader.
• The Optional Vision Inspection Module may be added to recognize and/or record inbound & outbound product.
• Interfaces to your WMS or host system.
• Full tracking capability with numerous standard and custom reporting capability.
• Easily configurable sort set-up using mouse clicks.
• Flexible drop assignment and configuration.
• Drops may be temporarily suspended or forced closed.
• Sort Rate up to 6,000 sorts per hour.

Some of the products that are ideally suited for this carrier-style (bomb bay) sorter include optical products, pharmaceutical products, and photofinishing envelopes. GBI's Vision Inspection Module may be added to the front-end of this sorter to recognize and record inbound products for sortation by process (in photofinishing) or by other criteria (other industries).

Package Configuration To enable the sorter to transport a variety of package sizes, the carriers on this sorter come in two sizes and handle product measuring either: 13" high x 6.75" wide x 1.5" deep or 13" high x 6.75" wide x 2.8" deep Controls and Accuracy A generous amount of strategically placed sensors and controls are employed to monitor the conditions of the sort. There are sensors above the chutes to indicate if the product did not properly deploy into the chute and verification sensors to verify that the product released entered the appropriate chute. Drop verification is included with every carrier-based sorter to help assure a high accuracy rate. GBI strives for 100% accuracy. Our customers report accuracy rates up to and exceeding 99.99%, with verification.

Reduced Cost & Size (footprint)

The Sorter-Lite is a mechanically scaled down version of the larger Simple Solution Carrier Sorter, while retaining all the functionality. The result is a high density sort configuration in a smaller overall footprint and a lower equipment cost.

Sorter Software The software used to drive the GBI Sorter-Lite is built on a Windows 2003/2008 system platform using Microsoft SQL for data storage. Aside from being user friendly, our sorter software in concert with the GBI sorter controls permit a high degree of programming flexibility. Included with these systems is the additional functionality to allow you to keep track of product by drop and subsequently by package.

Tracking Software: Sorted data is recorded in a database that tracks each package including:

• every sku seen by the scanner
• the time it was seen
• whether it got a valid read or not
• the carrier it traveled in
• to which drop it was directed
• mode of operation (automatic or manual)
• on which cycle of the sorter
• where it was dispensed
• was the solenoid triggered to drop or canceled.
