Types of Sorters

Tilt Tray Sorter  — Best suited for small lightweight items to medium size products.  This Tilt Tray Sorter will equally and simultaneously sort small items, irregularly shaped packages, lightweight poly bags, as well as larger boxes.  This sortation system is available in various configurations and has the widest range of custom features and options to best suit the application. The Tilt Tray Sorter is designed to require minimal maintenance, and is built in modules to allow fast and easy expansion.

Bomb Bay Sortation System — This Carrier-Based Sorter is best suited for items that fit within a 13 inch x 6.75 inch x 3 inch form factor. Product drops vertically into collection chutes, mailbags, or FedEx-style boxes that are arranged in a dense dual-row pattern to provide the maximum number of sort locations for a given footprint. This is the most economical fully automated sortation system in price per sort. Look at this sortation system for sorting small packages or items such as check boxes, contacts, optical lenses and glasses, pharmacy products, photofinishing envelopes, or items within these size limits.

Cross Belt Sorter — GBI now offers a line of Sortation Solutions utilizing the Cross Belt Sorters, the Wally Universal Cross Belt Sorter. The cross belt will sort items weighing up to 100 pounds (46 kg), at speeds up to 500 ft (150m) /min. A wide range of belt surface textures and finishes guarantee your product is handled swiftly, gently and precisely. Pick-to-Light System — An excellent entry-level sortation system that speeds up the manual sorting process while increasing accuracy. The system uses lights to direct operators as they pick or put product. Operator training is virtually unnecessary. GBI's Pick-to-Light systems are constructed as smart modules that provide a wide range of functional capability. There are numerous software modules and, as with all our systems, GBI will customize the programming to meet your needs, including providing numerous reports and features not always available in other sortation systems.

Sorter-Lite Sorting System — Sortation Solution specifically designed for the smaller warehouse and photofinishing labs that could benefit from this technology, but either lack the space or don't have the volume to justify the return on investment for most sortation systems. This economical Bomb-Bay (Carrier Style) sortation system incorporates the best features of our "Simple Solution" full-sized sortation systems. Products for which this sortation system is ideally suited include optical products, pharmaceutical products, check boxes, seed packets and photofinishing envelopes.

Hanging Garment Sorter (GOH) — Sortation solutions specially designed  to sort hanging garments. GBI's Hanging Garment Sortation System is a modular automated sortation system, designed to provide efficient conveyance of garments on hangers at average flow rates of 7,000 pieces per hour. System features include such functions and controls as cross hanger detection, computer controls, product scanning and tracking, sorting, and order staging.
